Continuity Editing

Continuity Editing is where a bunch of shots are all taken in real time and create a narrative that the audience is able to follow and understand. There needs to be a beginning, middle and end. Lots of separate clips that are taken at a range of angles, movements and shots are all cut together so that they all play one after another without anything in the middle of these clips such as a fade or a dissolve. This type of Editing is used in most films and trailers as it helps the audience connect with the characters.
